  • Use of Third Party Materials: To avoid copyright issues, authors should obtain written permission whenever third-party materials are used. Editors may request proof of such permission.
  • Declaration of Conflict of Interest: A subhead “Declaration of Conflict of Interest” must be placed immediately after “Acknowledgements”. Authors should declare conflicts, or state “The authors declare no conflict of interest”.
  • Ethics of Experiments: All experiments must comply with international codes for human and animal use. A statement must be included in “Materials and Methods” with the relevant codes cited. Human experiments must include informed consent and privacy statements, and anonymization of patient data. In absence of formal ethics review, the Helsinki Declaration should be followed.
  • Caution on Health and Safety: Authors must highlight hazardous procedures and state compliance with mandatory laboratory safety procedures.
  • Submitting Manuscripts: Manuscripts must be submitted online. All submissions undergo blind peer review, and editorial decisions are communicated through the platform.
  • Publishing of Manuscripts: Upon acceptance, authors are notified via email. Articles are published only after payment of processing charges, following complete editorial acceptance.
  • Publication Charges: Charges depend on the number of pages: $50 per page for authors outside Nigeria, N5,000 per page for authors within Nigeria.
  • Copyright Options: A copyright form accompanies the galley proof. Completion and signing cedes the article to Phytomedicine Publishers.
